20 years old and still going

I had one of these 20 years ago for my first camping trip. It has been used for every camping trip since. I have never had to replace a part, been unable to get fuel (including in Europe)or had it refuse to light.I have cooked everything from stir-fries to fondues, stews to pancakes and it has never, ever let me down.I cannot reccommend highly enough. It was as expensive buy for me at the time but after 20 years it was definately money well spent.

Trangia 27 cooking stove

Ordered this product after travelling to Europe with my Brother-in-law who kept mentioning how good his old Trangia was. I took a single gas burner with me, but as we travelled on the Channel Tunnel, we were not allowed to take gas. This became inconvenient the other end as we had to try and find a gas retailer. He just took a small bottle of meths and away he went. A very compact and simple system that is very effective. Would highly recommend one of these. Be aware when ordereding as some packages come with kettles and some do not. For a second opinion look on youtube and most people only speak highly of them.

Quality kit

Had this now about six months and used it throughout the season. Took it on two solo 7 day treks wild camping all the way and it proved its worth, not the lightest but certainly up there with the best. Convenient, stable and reliable, fuel readily available from many outlets. If there's more than one of you then I would advise getting the bigger version but for solo its the bees knees. Highly recommended.

Trangia 27 the Volvo of stoves

This stove is great. A bit heavy for a stove at just under 1Kg BUT you get two saucepans a frying pan AND a kettle , a complete cooking system ready to go.Fuel is easy to get here in Spain , I just but medical alcohol from a chemist and at 75 cents for a 500mm bottle fuel is cheap.A Trangia stove will last you a life time and you will leave it to the kids. Buy a Trangia you will not regret it and cant go wrong.

This is the second Trangia I have bought and both times I haven't been disappointed. They have been bumped about, loved and have never failed. My second purchase was the Trangia 27 series. On reflection I would have gone for the 25 again as it is not that much bigger and the 27 won't feed two really hungry campers easily.

Great Item.

Great Item. I reinforced lower section with plywood base but that was just my choice. I would recommend. Great value. Only other issue would be that it doesn't come with carry bag. The stove itself has a handle but there are sectioned legs and shelf unit. It is easily assembled.

Great piece of kit

I recently bought this combination unit and am very pleased with the quality and price. I agree with the previous reviewer that no bag is supplied however I have stored the cooker & legs etc into the canvas larder bit of the kit and just used a luggage strap to hold it all together. Its compact and not too heavy so ideal for my tent. When the windbreak sides are not required they make a neat little side extension ideal for a mug or 2 (there is a support bar you pull out). Also the support bar on the sides enable you to hang cooking utensils on them when the sides are up and in windbreak mode.

great stove

This stove is a great addition to any camping trip...it really does boil a pint of water in 2.5 mins....its got good wind resistance too as it has a sheild built in......I was impressed with the gas consumtion too. The Gas hose and fitting is a proper piece if kit.....a thick hose with a big brass fitting....I fed myself and three kids on this stove for a week no probs....highly recomended.

Kettle for use in caravan

Perfect for the lone traveller

This kettle is compact and well made. I like the fact that it has a lid so its easy to fill and you can see the level so avoiding the risk of overfilling and spills. The spout pours nicely - no dripping. Another nice feature which the manufacturers dont mention is that when the handle is folded down for storage it holds the lid firmly into position so it doesnt rattle or fall off. The only reason not to buy this kettle would be if you needed to boil more than two mugs of water.

Great camping kettle to suit two people

While it should be obvious from the capacity being under a litre, when it arrived I was surprised at how small it actually was. However, the small size is an advantage, because it comes to the boil pretty quickly and if you fill it to capacity, it's just enough to make two cuppas, or provided enough hot water for doing the washing up. Although the handle has a rubber section, depending on your gas ring, this may not be enough to keep the handle cool enough - on one of our rings it's fine, but on another, for some reason, the handle gets very hot.The handle folds over for storage, and the lid has a small ring so you can lift it easily. The spout is also well designed in that water goes where it's supposed to and doesn't dribble all over the place like some kettles do. We're very happy with this kettle, it does just what it's supposed to!

At last, an FFD cooker in the UK

Whilst, I was lukewarm about the normal version of this cooker, it having no windshield, this version more than makes up for it by having the STOPGAS feature and so is technically useable indoors (IN A LARGE WELL VENTILATED ROOM). About time!.Campingaz, only sells these in France and Germany, the UK being not thought of as suitable to have this safety feature. Shame on them.Good cooker. Use outdoors on a camp kitchen to get protection from wind.Uses inexpensive CP250 original or clone cartridges. (Campingaz original ones are 250g and copies are usually 227g)
